Quilting is a popular winter occupation among Mennonite women in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Approximately 100 hours of work go into each quilt, but quilting parties are also social gatherings where "many hands make light work".

Traditional patterns and skillful fingers are abundant at a Lancaster County, Pennsylvania quilting party. Approximately 100 hours of work go inte each quilt, but for these and other local Mennonite women it is a labor of love. Finished quilts are requently donated to charity auctions.
