Description
This collection contains one handwritten mercantile directory as recorded by Daniel S. Geist of Blue Ball when he was mercantile appraiser in 1856.
Admin/Biographical History
Daniel S. Geist was born June 27, 1813 and lived in Blue Ball, East Earl Township. He served as a Justice of the Peace for 15 years and as Mercantile Appraister for the year 1856. He married Sarah Oberline and had three children. He died 9 March 1901 and is buried in New Holland, Lancaster County.
