"The purpose in putting the history of our Church into this permanent form is to preserve many facts which would otherwise pass away with generations. It is also designed to inform the members with a larger knowledge of the Church of which they are a part, hoping to inspire in them greater devotion and loyalty to an institution which has grown into honor through adversity and sacrifice these one hundred and sixty-eight years...Throughout the chronicles I have endeavored to present 'The rest of the Story' by presenting information that provides a background to the events written about and the reasons, where known, for the action taken."
