Iron plate from 5 plate stove made by H. W. Stiegel at Elizabeth Furnace in 1758. The vases of tulips and the hart motifs are typical of Pennsylvania German folk art. But the arches on spiral turned columns suggests lingering Baroque sensitivity.
Plate for a five plate stove called "War and Peace" in the Bible in iron. Presumably, it depicts two soldiers and two Amishmen. The holes in the four corners suggest it was used as a fireback one time. The date and location of casting are not known.
