Given by owner Bob Shank to one of Jean-Paul's students who was researching Shank's Tavern for a class project. Bob confirmed that he did not want the documents back.

Inns have served Americans for centuries, through its War of Independence, the War of 1812, and the Civil War. They also played an important role in politics, commerce, and business. Many settlers passed through them on their journey westward and relied on them to escape the discomfort and sheer tedium of travel by foot, coach, wagon, or horseback. Boulder and bronze tablet on the site of Postlethwaite's Tavern on Long Lane near Rock Hill in Conestoga Township. This was the location where, in 1729, the first courts of justice in Lancaster County were held. Erected in 1915.

Bronze tablet on the Revere Tavern in Paradise, formerly the rectory of All Saints Episcopal Church. From 1841 until 1854 the rector was Edward Y. Buchanan, brother of President James Buchanan. He lived here with his wife, Eliza, sister of the songwriter Stephen Foster. Erected in 1954.

The late 19th century Victorian hotel and brewery, Bube's Brewery in Mt. Joy, Lancaster County, greets its guests with an intact brewery, catacombs, parlors and bars which served locals and travelers alike throughout the generations.

The Revere Tavern is located along the original Philadelphia to Lancaster Turnpike (now part of U. S. Route 30) in Lancaster County, PA. Dating back to 1740, the Revere Tavern was once a stagecoach tavern. Today, it serves fine American cuisine.
