- Letter from J. B. Henry to Louisa Anderson sending her this one as a backup of the previous one via another ship; likes the islands and his rowing, even with the sudden showers and little sunshine; a German from Philadelphia is his best companion; the hotel hosts such luminaries as the Surgeon General of the 20th Regiment and a colonial secretary; Mr. and Mrs. Butterfield had his name added to the books of the Bermuda Yacht Club; really likes the walks because of the views of the sea and the vegetation; and still wants to visit other islands. Envelope with address of Hamilton Hotel, Jno W. Dodge & Harnett, Bermuda, no stamp, 6 cents and New York postmark addressed to Mrs. J. Buchanan Henry, Stapleton, Staten Island, New York. Hamilton Hotel, Hamilton, Bermuda.

- The James Buchanan Family Papers were collected by the James Buchanan Foundation for the Preservation of Wheatland. This collection was relocated from the Wheatland mansion to the LancasterHistory archives in the Spring of 2009. Digitization of the James Buchanan Family Papers was funded by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, PHMC Appl ID # 201808013051, 2019-2020.
