Henry to Mary Hagner Nicholson expressing happiness that both he and she have improved their health; has asked Uncle Edward to perform the ceremony probably in August since she preferred her uncle Mr. Nelson but wished not to embarrass her regular Pastor Mr. Davenport; must write “that letter” to James Buchanan to attend the wedding since his brother will be officiating; also wrote Harriet Lane, who denies telling Mrs. Bright about the wedding plans and promises only to say that the wedding will be sometime in the autumn; will ask Uncle Edward when he passes through New York after taking his son to West Point if he will be available either the first or second week of August.
