Reuben Clark Long (1843-1863) enlisted 30 September 1861 and served as a private with the 79th Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteers, Company E until his death at Chickamauga, Georgia on 19 September 1863.

Scrapbook appears to be the work of Thomas' son, Blanton Welsh. The volume was origianlly a record book for the Commonwealth Insurance Company, for which Thomas Welsh was an agent in Columbia. The scrapbook contains newspaper articles from the Columbia Spy, beginning with articles on the cholera epidemic of 1854, Welsh's cases as Justice of the Peace, and published war correspondence by Thomas Welsh under the names "Thirsty Squad" and "45". Blanton continued the scrapbook with newspaper articles about his father and sisters, and a lawsuit against him in 1930; his mother's obituary; his wedding announcement; his visiting cards; a letter from Lillie to Blanton; and letters to Thomas Welsh. Thomas Welsh (1824-1863) was a Lancaster County native (born and raised in Columbia), who rose from hardscrabble origins to local fame, first as a Mexican War hero, and then as a brigadier general during the Civil War. He was well known and well respected as a no nonsense officer, for his leadership and gallantry in battle, for his dedication to the service of his country, and for his concern for the welfare of his men. Scrapbook of Grace Anna Brosius Biddle, 1926-1937. This scrapbook highlights Grace and Clement's involvement in the community and their international travel. Newspaper clippings describe Swarthmore College events, the Clement M. Biddle Historical Library, Boys Club Federation, Rotary Club, Community Chest campaign, Red Cross campaigns, Daylight Savings Bill, and an article from a Warsaw newspaper. The volume also contains ephemera, correspondence, telegrams, invitations, programs, and announcements regarding births, marriages, and deaths in the Biddle family.
Admin/Biographical History
Grace Anna Brosius was the daughter of Hon. Marriott Henry Brosius and Elizabeth Jackson Coates Brosius of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She attended Swarthmore College from 1895-1897. She married Clement Miller Biddle (1876-1959) on 28 November 1900 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Description
Catharine B. Spitler, a resident of Landisville, Pennsylvania, compiled these scrapbooks. Book one contains information primarily about World War II. The newspaper clippings include information about Lancaster natives, both men and women that were involved in World War II, including ranks and location of service. There are also articles about the United States involvement in World War II. Interesting local articles and programs discuss the World War II Memorial in West Hempfield Township. Columbia's Sesquicentennial was documented through a series of newspaper clippings located in this scrapbook.
Book two is a compilation of newspaper clippings, engagement announcements, wedding announcements and obituaries pertaining to Lancastrians. Locations around Lancaster County that were mentioned are as follows: Lancaster, Hempfield, Ephrata, Maytown and Mount Joy. An interesting subject within the second scrapbook is the1972 Flood of Lancaster (Hurricane Agnes).

Description
Lancaster Recreation and Playground Association Annual Report. The report contains a list of board members, a letter from the director, financial report, attendance, and information about programs and associated organizations. The programs included indoor and outdoor activities, supervisors' training classes, playgrounds, wading pools and street showers, swimming lessons, hikes, sports, and community parties. The associated clubs and organizations were the boys' and girls' clubs and the Crispus Attucks Recreation Center.
