Handwritten note at bottom: From Mrs. Upham. Shottery. Monday. Aug 28th 1854. On reverse: This was given to Mrs Harriet Lane Johnston before she was married, on a visit to Shottery.

This collection was relocated from the Wheatland mansion to the LancasterHistory archives in the Spring of 2009. James Buchanan, as written by himself, and set to music by an old Democrat to the tune of “Poor Old Horse Let Him Die!” Price “Half a Jimmy!” [Copyright secured in Cuban Bonds.] A song liberally sprinkled with “footnotes” that “prove” the contentions presented in the poem that Buchanan is no real Democrat. The appendix sets landmarks for honest Democrats. 12 pp. Lancaster.
