3/4 profile bust charcoal portrait of woman wearing amulet clasp at center of neckline with white collar. Four buttons are visible down front of her bodice. Her hair is parted in the center. There appear to be ribbon/folds over her left ear with hint of fabric on top of her head and along right side like a bonnet or hair-covering on back of her head. She is looking left, eyes skyward. Back: "Mrs. Jacobina Gruel" written cursively in pencil on back.
Drawing, attached to cardboard, is brown overall. Lighter border from frame that has been removed.

Pastel portrait of a woman, dark hair parted in middle, facing slightly to the left. Her white head covering has a thin band beneath the chin. A white sash is around her neck, overlapped in the front to cascade below her chin and widen down of her chest.
This Gutekunst photo has been enhanced with charcoal and white pastels. It is matted with an oval opening. Angled along the base of her left sleeve impressed in tiny cursive is " F. Gutekunst" with a line beneath.
Written in pencil on reverse: " 189/ Pastel Portrait,/ woman".
Label on back: "From/ F. Gutekunst/ Photographer,/ 719 Arch Street, Philadelphia."
Frederick Gutekunst (September 25, 1831 – April 27, 1917) was an American photographer from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He opened his first photographic portrait studio with his brother in 1854 and successfully ran his business for sixty years.

The fine condition has been preserved by the oval-cut mat and backing for this piece. There is a chunk of the top mat missing from the lower left edge.
Charcoal-photo portrait of Aaron Lefever before his death on September 26, 1898 when he was 32 years old. He gazes to the right. His dark hair, parted on the left, is combed back and appears short on the sides. He has a moustache. He is wearing a vest, suit jack with lapels, a white shirt and long necktie.
Upper left section missing and covered with a white tape. Top color missing revealing white in much of the background with some spots on the image. White card with identification is tape to the image, bottom center. Tape also along right edge.
Charcoal-photo on paper that's attached to a heavy cardboard backer. Written on reverse: "Ida (V?) Liff/ Born Feb 5, 1856/ Died 1930? Daughter of H.S. & Mary E. Liff."
Ida is looking to the left. Her dark wavy hair is parted in the middle and pulled and attached in the back. She is wearing a dangling pierced-ear earring. Her dark garment top, with three decorated buttons on the front that are beneath a horizontal pin at the neckline. Over both shoulders of her garment there is elaborate decorative stitching/trim
Watercolor of "Mirror/ Yeates Mansion/ Lancaster/Pa:-" In lower right corner is a letter embellishment "m?n:" and beneath it, "-1879-" Oval-shaped mirror hanging on the wall is edged ornately with gold-colored curved leafy branches. On the top at the center is a gold lamppost/ torch.
There is a brown mark on the bottom edge, about 1.5 inches from the left corner. There are the remains of a previous backing on the corners and sides of the reverse which have partially bled through to the fronts, especially at the lower left corner. (by Scott Sagar, 12/06/2000)

The edges are worn and browned. Part of the bottom left corner is A light brown mark appears at the bottom, to the left of the caption. There are remains of a previous backing on the corners of the reverse, and glue stains have bled through to the front., especially in the lower right corner.

A significant brown mark appears in the lower left area of the drawing, between the stairs and basement window. A smaller brown mark appears in the sky, 1 inch to the left of the top of the chimney. A blue ink mark appears on the top edge, about 5 inches from the top right corner. There are remains of a previous backing on the corners of the reverse.

Ink drawing on paper of the Old White House, a 2-story building with a raised doorway, basement entrance, and possible skylight in the roof. There is a high fence extending from the corner of the building. A man with a walking stick and a boy with a stick and hoop are shown in front of the fence.
The border has been colored light brown.
A sign over the door reads" JOHN WHITE BOOK BINDER" and a smaller sing on the second floor reads "1764." The caption at the bottom reads "The Old 'White" House/ East Orange St.: Lancaster Pa:/ in which tradition ways the Continental Congress met 1777 (?)"
Tradition also claimed that this was the house of Timothy Matlack during the Revolution.
