Admin/Biographical History
James Fleming Smith, son of Isaac Smith and Margaret Fleming, was born in 1807 in Lancaster County and died in 1854 in Wrightsville, York County. He married Elizabeth Schall, 3 September 1845, and had one child, Howard Persifor Smith, born in 1872.

This collection contains ephemera related to Julius J. "Jule" Ritchey of Lancaster and his career as a middleweight boxer.
Admin/Biographical History
Julius J. "Jule" Ritchey was born in 1895 in Lancaster's Cabbage Hill neighborhood. During his career as a middleweight boxer, he fought 75 bouts, won 65 of them and had 4 KOs. He fought alongside local contemporaries Leo Houck, Rosey Stoy, and Tim Droney. He trained in various places around the world, including Havana, Cuba. Ritchey later worked from Armstrong until he retired in 1960. He died 9 January 1983 in Lancaster.

The Ressler Family and Mascot Roller Mill Collection contains Christmas cards sent by the Ressler Family, owners of the Mascot Roller Mill in Upper Leacock Township, and information about the mill, the family home and the Ressler Mill Foundation.
Admin/Biographical History
The Mascot Roller Mill was built in 1760 by Jacob Becker. William Ressler acquired the mill in 1864 and his family continued to operate the mill until 1977. With the mill no longer in production, the Ressler Mill Foundation was established to preserve the mill and its waterways.

Property for the Lexington School and Meetinghouse was bought in 1829 and the building was constructed in 1836, the same year the property for the cemetery was purchased. The meetinghouse was located at what's now the southwest corner of Lexington Road and Union House Road in Warwick Township.

The Friendship Fire Company began in 1763. It was out of existence from 1768 until 1791 and then reorganized. The company ended its active service in 1882 when the paid City Fire Department came into existence. (Ellis & Evans, page 384)
