Robert Baldwin (1805-1888)
1827 - Robert Baldwin, school teacher came to Cains to reside at The Bull's Head.
1830 - Robert Baldwin and John Cains opened a store in Cains.
1843 - Robert Baldwin built his store and home on the corner of Cains Road and the Old Philadelphia Pike.
1849 - Robert Baldwin was elected to the State Legislature.
Book cover is worn and spine is separated from rear cover. Cover has red rot.

Contains 88 leaves, including 2 front leaves, 1 end leaf, a 6 leaf index and added at the end are 7 shorter unruled leaves (12-3/8" x 6"). The main body pages are unruled, unpaginated and have vertical accounting lines. One front leaf is blank.
Spine had a "2" stamped at the bottom.
Inside front and back covers have account information written on them.
The front page has "Christopher Frey his; Alphabet & Day Book; Christopher Frey's Book" written at the top.
Book references saddle, bridle, hip strap, collar, lash & eye, days in hay making, day in harvest, bushels of rye, shoring rams, belly band, baking oats, husking corn, bushel of dry peaches, buckles, rings, cash paid, buckles, etc.

Item 2 Card with "Day Book - Lancaster Co PA - Lexington; Christopher Frey - Saddler; 1831-1842" written on the front and "50.oo" written on the back.
Insert 2 - 4 loose sheets.
Item 1 One contains scrap paper with "Christopher Fray; Saddler of Lexington; Warwick Township; Lancaster County; Pennsylvania; Isaac Teney (sp?); 1852", written on it.
Front and back outside covers are marbleized and worn and the corners are worn bare. The Front outside cover has an ~2" diameter dark spot and the end outside cover has a 1/2" diameter bare spot.
Spine has red rot and an ~1/4" long section on the front edger worn bare.
Many pages have indication of water damage at the top center.

Contains 132 leaves, unruled, with vertical accounting lines, unpaginated, including 1 front leaf, 2 end leaves and an added leaf in front of the end leaves. 101 pages are blank.
The following written on page 2: "Mount Hope 1st January 1809; Sincerity and truth are ornaments to youth [repeated]".
The following written on page 3: "Received from Mr Henry B Grubb Ten Dollars; being the amount of his subscription money; for the map of Lancaster County; 2nd September 1804; Joshua Seath".
The following written on leaf 106: "President Andrew Jackson removed Wm. Duane the Secretary from office for not complying with a Jackson request to remove Public Deposits....".
