Printed version of the court case between the executors of James Buchanan’s estate and Henry E. Johnston and Harriet L. Johnston, his wife, concerning the papers left by Buchanan, some delivered to William B. Reed for the purpose of writing a biography (as directed by the will, but Reed refused to write the biography), the alleged mis-handling by E. Y. Buchanan of a large number of family papers in the possession of the defendants, and the unwillingness of E. Y. Buchanan to destroy certain papers as directed by the will. Lancaster.

This collection was relocated from the Wheatland mansion to the LancasterHistory archives in the Spring of 2009. Cause of death: by being caught by an upright shaft in Goods mill, formerly Daniel Oberholser's, death resulting from fractured skull, broken arm (left) and leg (left); Mary Anne Stauffer was 10 years, 9 months, 13 days old.

Cause of death: from injuries received January 22nd, 1889, (while on duty) on Pennsylvania Railroad about two miles east of Columbia, having been crushed between Gondola car and Cabin No. 267 of his train by engine No. 1265., William Rogers, Engineer, crashing into Cabin No.267, William Rogers, Engineer, being asleep at his post, until too late to avert the accident.
