Pair of metal cap guns (A & B) with holsters on belt (C) by Hubley Manufacturing. Identical plated metal handguns with molded brown & white plastic grips. Raised foliate decoration on barrel, 6-cylinder and cocking hammer. "MARSHAL" molded on each side under cylinder; cleaning rod has "HUBLEY" and "MADE IN USA" on opposing sides. Left side of cylinder swivels open to chamber for mounting roll of caps.
Leather holsters mounted on adjustable two-piece leather belt with stamped metal buckle at front decorated with longhorn steer, horse-and-horseshoe, six-gun and Indian chief. Series of double holes at back of belt with metal "clasp" or keeper fitted into holes at back for size adjustment. Additional part missing for this closure. Elaborate oak-and-leaf stamped decoration overall of light brown leather against a dark brown ground. Highlighted with bold palomino colored horses, one on each side of belt and each holster front. Constructed with stitching and metal fasteners having "H" on each fastener head. Holster ends fitted with looped leather thong hanging down in double strands for tying to legs.
Height excludes thong; length is the measure of fully extended belt halves.

Leather shows wear, especially the front belt parts and holsters are distorted, creased and abraded. Overall decoration has moderate wear. Reverse of leather has sections with strong wear that are shedding or delaminating. Guns have corrosion on and around hammers. Gun (B) has small loss of plastic at bottom corner of grip. Sizing holes in back odstretched, most grommets appear to be missing and one hole torn through to edge.

Trinket chest of dovetail construction, hinged lid, turned feet and polychrome decoration. Bottom secured with square nails. Keyhole at front; key missing. On a burnt orange ground are 5 large decals (4 of fruit and 1 of flowers) and one small decal at front center of spread eagle, shield and banner. Chest sides and top have centered line decoration of 3 concentric rectangles with hollow corners (black, ochre, white). Feet are black. Edge moldings of lid and base painted black with yellow-green double line decoration enclosing leafy scrolling vines. Interior and underside unfinished.
Inked # 00.43.1 on bottom. Two old stickers: "65603" on back and "65625" on bottom.
Attributed to Joseph Lehn (1798-1892). South of Clay, Elizabeth Township.

Paint soiled and darkened. Large scar on left end of lid molding. Arc scored into top at right front of lid. Wear/abrasions overall, especially lid and base molding. Loose left front foot and paint loss of right back foot. Pristine interior. One hing screw missing.

Provenance
These four items were designated as basketweaving tools by donor. Unknown origin.
Glove stretcher is cast, nickel-plated brass (?). Made of two opposing lengths of tapered, rounded metal, spring operated. Dog's leg shape tool has handle cast with raised, scrolled decoration. Opposite end is tapered so it fits into glove fingers for stretching after being heated. The larger end of the taper is inset with lead for holding heat.
Inscriptions: "THE / FOSTER GLOVE STRETCHER" is on one handle and the other has "PATENTED JULY 27, 1888."

Collected by Lillian Hollings Kiker, born to Scottish Americans who lived in New Jersey. Born (1912) and lived in New Jersey, last of Egg Harbor, she was active with quilting, sewing, knitting & crocheting. Collection inherited by donor when her mother passed away.
Cast silver wax holder in shape of a small walnut. Identical halves of nut are attached at one end and partially open at the other. Interior is filled with beeswax for drawing thread through, and multiple score marks are evident in wax. Hanging ring at fixed end.
The stoneware mug's body is predominantly white surmounted with a wide green band that is outlined with narrow gilt bands. The handle is also white and outlined with similar gilt bands.

This needlework roll or "Housewife" is a handmade pieced storage case having five pockets of four diffferent cotton prints sewn onto one side of a length of fabric. Outer fabric is a polka dot print on blue. Bound with a 1/4" wide cotton binding of a floral print on white ground.
Several small holes and weak spots, especially in blue print.. Splits in the lower red pocket. Areas of strong soiling, especially on binding and the upper red pocket.
