This record group contains canceled orders that were issued by the county commissioners for payment to be made by the county treasurer. The orders show date, order number, amount, name of payee, purpose, and signatures of the county commissioners. In the case of "poor children," teachers were reimbursed by the county for tuition and/or the supplies purchased for students whose parents were unable to pay. Orders include: Poor Children, Almshouse, Bridges, Coroners' Inquests, Prisons, Roads, Court House, and Tax Exonerations.

The record group is organized chronologically, then arranged by order number within each year.
Letter from J. B. Henry to Mary Hagner Nicholson commenting on the heat wave; hoping that she is not too tired after reading his lengthy letter; his boredom at having to chaperone his cousin, Miss S, even after trying to expound of the merits of General Ward as a love interest; and wonders why he has lost interest in everyone else but her; commenting on the praise Scharff heaped upon her; and hoping to persuade her mother to allow her to write more often.
