The Mayor's Court was established at the incorporation of the City of Lancaster in 1818, and was composed of the mayor, recorder, and aldermen with powers and jurisdiction analogous to the Court of Quarter Sessions of the Peace, Oyer and Terminer, and Jail Delivery. It was abolished on 6 February 1849.

Title search for Thaddeus Stevens' property in Lancaster
Description
Title search for property of George Kleiss that Stevens owned on S. Queen Street, Lancaster. John Ehler, Sheriff, to Thaddeus Stevens. Sheriff's Deed, 27 April 1843. Stevens paid $4,000 for two 2-story brick houses, brick brew house, brick shop, blacksmith shop and stable, water pump and other improvements.
