Description
Color-printed Marriage Certificate on heavy tan paper. Inside border on brown field is an overarching banner with "Jesus Christus along with 3 bible verses. Surround a white field with text are 5 color scenes in circles and ovals along with flowers. Text block has a small angel with putti flanked by "Traus" and "Schein" (Marriage Certificate). Infilled in cursive with black ink. Bridal couple are Joseph W. Houk and Marie A. Schleeger, both of Columbia, married 30 June 1902 in St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Columbia. Witnesses were Martin Schwarz, Louis Schleeger, Frederick Schleeger and August Witte. It is signed at the bottom "Harrisburg den 5ten Februar 1902 / Eduard H. Paar, / Ev. Luth. Pastor." Below the outside border is "No. 104" at left and "Verlag von Ernst Kaufmann, 330 Pearl Street, New York." at right. Reverse side has "White & gilt / 85" written in pencil.
Printed in New York City by Ernst Kaufmann. Infilled in Columbia or Harrisburg, likely by pastor Eduard H. Paar.

Dark smudges at top center. Brown liquid stains along bottom and upper right corner. Along left edge are two minor creases and one small tear. Reverse shows acid burn from backing board while framed as well as brown soil around all edges. Liquid stains evident particularly in bottom corners. Dark smudges along top.

Description
Scrivened page, probably a detached page from the front of a Bible. Watercolored pink and grey over pencil layout.
Horizontal guide lines in pencil still present. Checkerboard border with single rose projecting inward from each corner, then the words" Dieses Buch/ gehoret mir/ Enos Fischer/ Lancaster County Penna/ Geschrieben den 18ten Juni im Jahr/ 1898", then a pair of tulips at the bottom.
Center of letters, flowers, and border are highlighted with a gold paint. Scrolled decoration surrounding the words "Enos Fischer" and vining and leaf decoration around the capital 'D" of Dieses and "B" of Buch.
Newly framed under glass in a gold and black painted, molded, wooden frame. (Written by Michael Middleton.)

Description
Birth & baptismal certificate on laid paper. Printed form with central textblock in German within a multiple line border. Infilled and decorated around textblock by Speyer; cross-legged angel at top, pelicans feeding young at sides and flowers at sides and bottom. Watercolors are red, blue, yellow, green and brown.
Infilled for Johannes, son of Valiendein (Valentine) and Eliesabetha (Elisabetha) Bohmer of Brecknock Township in Lancaster Co., born Dec. 13, 1788.
Georg Friederich Speyer (active 1774-1801) used this printed form produced c. 1789 by Barton & Johnson of Reading. See Notes.

General wear with numerous creases and wrinkles; one pronounced vertical centerline crease. Repaired tears, esp at left edge. All edges are ragged and uneven, esp. at right.
Conserved by CCAHA in 1989 (see report in file). Hinged into window mat & back mat. Relaced in its original frame using UF-3 Plexiglas and acid-free cardboard on reverse with a taped mylar dust shield.

Printed form by Reading printers Thomas Barton and Benjamin Johnson, circa 1789 (see Klaus Stopp, The Printed Birth & Baptismal Certificates of the Pa. Germans, v. 4, p. 84). Speyer used this printed form for Johannes Bohmer who was born the previous year in1788.

Description
French dance card booklet with thin ivory covers. Covers have chamfered edges and front cover has ornate cut-out design of 3 leafy C scrolls and additional leafage within a solid border. End papers are covered in red silk. Within are 2 smooth white printed pages at both front and back and six off-white blank pages between. First glossy leaf printed with "Contredanses" on both sides and 12 numbered lines. Second leaf has a Victorian couple printed on each side in different poses. Underneath first couple is "a Paris, chez l'Editeur". Final white pages: first has "Walses", 2nd has "Galops", 3rd is another pose of a Victorian couple dancing and the last is "Walses". Paper loop inside back cover intended for holding a now-missing pencil. Penciled inscriptions on most pages, including names "P. Hetrick" and "Lizzie E. W."
