Four post mahogany veneer bed owned by James Buchanan. Includes two sets of rails. Originals have carvings on top edge and hold multiple slats. Modern set accommodates modern box spring and mattress with iron supports.

Wilkes he noticed that her Uncle Dan flirting with the Misses Scott, and wonders if she or Miss Kennedy, Miss McKim, or Miss [Lieta] will be her aunt; saw a friend from the Lake George days and wishes to go back; has not written or heard from Mr. Scharff, who will be married on Thursday and should be by on Saturday; will miss the wedding he might have to go to Philadelphia and New York to be admitted to the Supreme Court; asks for Miss McKim’s address.
