Henry to Louisa Anderson mentioning his happiness that Dick delivered her letter and for the information Charlie obtained from Mrs. Townsend; Mrs. Magruder will send Dody by train from New York to Newark; hopes to be home soon; friendships hard to make in Newport because everyone lives in cottages; thinks Col. Thompson might be ill; had a great sail to Providence and might go to Block Island next; Mr. Schmidt sent Mr Winan of Baltimore to look at the yacht but seems uninterested in buying it; Cousin Will Buchanan is too ill to come; and only one beautiful woman in Newport.
