The James Buchanan Family Papers were collected by the James Buchanan Foundation for the Preservation of Wheatland. This collection was relocated from the Wheatland mansion to the LancasterHistory archives in the Spring of 2009. Digitization of the James Buchanan Family Papers was funded by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, PHMC Appl ID # 201808013051, 2019-2020.
Group of 7 bills from Joseph Schell for miscellaneous footwear for members of the family, one letter from H. R. Irving enclosing one of the bills and a receipt Dr. J. J. van Rensselaer. 46 Arrietta Street, Tompkinsvillle, Staten Island, July 1890 – 2 March 1891.

Description
Invoice to the Board of Common Schools of the City of Lancaster from Lewis Hood for cleaning and whitewashing the African School. Invoice dated 26 August1847. Approved by G. Zahm and Charles Gillespie. Order written by P. McConomy, treasurer, on 27 August 1847. Signed by J. Zimmerman, secretary, and George M. Steinman, president.
