Blake urging Mr. Riggs to force a sale of the farm on which the Leonards currently live over Mr. Bowie’s objections; lambasts the “despotic” Lincoln administration for its latest “document”; thinks that friends of McClellan are foolish to put his name forward for the Presidency unless he has the backing of the Democratic Party and other conservative groups; and that James Henry has just argued a case before the U.S. Supreme Court.
