The Samuel Ream Collection contains papers of the Reem family of Mount Joy Twp. The papers include probate records, receipts, and an agreement with the railroad company. Resolutions from Christ Reformed Church in Elizabethtown thank Adam Reem for the property he sold to the church.

Description
Jacquard coverlet woven by Jacob Lutz for Benjamin Bausman ("Bengaman Bowsman") in 1846.
This is a coverlet (in great condition) is made up of two fastened panels. Its colors are navy, green, and two shades of red and it has fringe on two of its sides. The design is five horizontal rows of floral medallions alternating with leaves. Bottom edge has a design depicting two types of buildings. Signature/date squares on the bottom two corners.

Coverlet was donated to Berks History Center by Mrs. Arthur G. Lyons in 1947 and accessioned. Deaccessioned in 2020.
Jacob Lutz (1806-1861) appears in 1830 tax records of East Hempfield Township, Lancaster Township. From 1831-1846, his recorded profession is a weaver.
Rev. Benjamin Bausman (1824-1909) was born in Lancaster Twp. He began his formal education at Franklin College in 1846 in preparation for the ministry. He accepted a position in Reading as pastor in 1863. He remained in Reading as a pastor and community leader. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/48622482/benjamin-bausman

The James Buchanan Family Papers were collected by the James Buchanan Foundation for the Preservation of Wheatland. This collection was relocated from the Wheatland mansion to the LancasterHistory archives in the Spring of 2009.
