Rifle with flint lock, brass mountings, full stock of curly maple which is beautifully carved in bas relief designs on the cheek side of the butt, around the breech tang, and below the bottom ramrod pipe. On the top facet of the octagonal barrel, Isaac Hains is engaved in script letters. This rifle is the product of a master craftsman and is in its original perfect conditon. The patch box is in an attractive and rare pattern of the late eighteenth century.
