Admin/Biographical History
The family of John I. Abele (1904-1987) and Blanche Henry Abele (1912-2003) lived in the city of Lancaster, but had family ties to other parts of Lancaster County. This collection documents those ties.
Monument to Ulrich Shirk I at Steinmetz Cemetery near Schoeneck, West Cocalico Twp. Written on back: "Commemorative stone for Ulrich Schurch I and family and descenedants. Steinmetz Cemetery, Lancaster County, Pa. Many early Shirks are buried here. July 1990."
Renunciations are papers filed in the Orphans' Court by executors of an estate who do not wish to administer that estate. They show the name of the decedent, the decedent's place of residence, the name of the person renouncing administration, the name of the replacement administrator to be appointed, and date.
