Admin/Biographical History
Richard Bowman "Dick" Marion was active in the Boy Scouts and earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 1951. Dick pursued his childhood passion for Scouting throughout his adult career. He completed National Training School in the Boy Scouts of America in 1960 and was commissioned as a District Scout Executive in Lancaster, PA. He continued to serve local councils in Pittsburgh, PA, Reading, PA and Rochester, NY. In 1976, he became Scout Executive in East Valley Area Council in Western PA and moved on to lead the Gulf Ridge Council in Tampa, FL in 1981. In 1985, he became President of the Cradle of Liberty Council in Philadelphia, PA, where he remained until his retirement from professional scouting in 1998. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/76169899/richard-bowman-marion
