Gravestones of Jay G. Francis' maternal grandparents, Rev. Jacob Z. Gottwals (1812-1903) and Ann Gottwals (1826-1912). Jacob's tombstone reads: Asleep in Jesus blessed sleep, From which none ever wakes to weep, A calm and undisturbed repose, Unbroken by the last of foes. Ann's tombstone reads: Asleep in Jesus peaceful rest, Whose waking is so supremely blest, No fear no woe shall dim that hour, That manifest the Saviors power.
