Summary
Adams identifies businessman and politician William W Geist as the mastermind behind the Greist building project. C. Emlen Urban is identified as the architect of the project. This essay goes into cost of building, how it was financed, date of laying the foundation, the names of tenants for each of the 17 floors, and the number of square feet per floor divided by the number of tenants per floor, one picture of a the skeleton of the structure and one of a completed (1925) building. A notation indicates that the 18th floor was added in 1963 and the 19th floor in 1975.Adams provides the reader with information of the impact of the building on business in Lancaster at the time. Interesting, detailed paper from student perspective with professorial comments throughout.
