Summary: Paul Zantzinger was according to the author a "prominent churchman, prosperous merchant, a promoter of numerous enterprises, a loyal soldier, and a civil leader" in Lancaster,Pennsylvania.He was born in 1744 . He began work as a tailor and later became a trader of iron. He was elected Burgess in Lancaster several times. During the Revolutionary War , although not involved in combat, he served as Lancaster's Captain of the Guard and was a commander of a company of the "Flying Camp" [see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_Camp for information on the "Flying Camp"]. He died in 1817.The article includes genealogical information.
