The Invoice and Receipt Collection was formerly called the Bills of Sale Collection. The title of the collection was changed on 25 August 2021 to reflect the items in the collection.
This collection was originally cataloged prior to 1997 and the finding aid is updated as items are added. Added to database 25 August 2021.
The Medical, Dental and Veterinary Collection contains records of doctors and a midwife who practiced in Lancaster County. Susanna Rohrer Müller's account book is a record of her work as a midwife from 1791 to 1815. The other volumes in this collection contain medical school notes, records of births, ephemera, and medicinal formulas.
This small Iron Industry Collection contains orders for pig iron and bar iron, a schematic plan, and historical information about the iron industry in Lancaster County. Mount Hope Furnace, Hopeland Forge, Martick Works, and Hershey Machine & Foundry are among the businesses represented.

The Benjamin Witmer Collection contains family photographs, a printed copy of Benjamin Herr's journal, judgment bond, correspondence, and a Lehigh University progress report. Within the collection are genealogies for Letitia Herr Malone, the DuBois family, and the Witmer family, as well as a copy of a genealogy chart of the Witmer family.
The Temperance Collection includes convention programs of the Lancaster County Woman's Christian Temperance Union (W.C.T.U.); a history of the group from 1884-1959; Pennsylvania State W.C.T.U. function programs; and a minute book from the Bart Chapter. Included are handwritten notes on some of the conventions, pro-temperance booklets and newspapers (Moral Reformer and American Reformer), and miscellaneous addresses and articles. Of special interest is a booklet "Operation Interview" in which 36 prominent Lancastrians comment on the question, "Is social drinking necessary for success?", and a newspaper article reminiscing on the temperance movement in Columbia, Pennsylvania.
The Alice Caldwell Papers contain poetry written and compiled by Alice Caldwell of Lancaster and three of her drawings. Tucked inside the manuscript volume was a eulogy for Robert Scott, composed by Henry Carter.

Lancaster Electric, Light, Heat and Power Company Collection
Description
The Lancaster Electric Light, Heat and Power Company Collection contains the contracts and specifications for building the Slackwater, Rock Hill and Wabank plant to generate electricity for the Lancaster area. There are lists of costs to provide lighting for the Millersville State Normal School. There is also a list of residents in Lancaster city using incandescent lamps in 1901.

The Diary Collection contains diaries and journals of individuals from Lancaster County. The diarists recorded daily events such as social activities, household chores, farm life, and business activities. Some writers copied published works and newspaper articles or recorded national events. The Hood and Lockwood Family Papers contain a certificate for Bernarda Black's honorary membership in the Lincoln Farm Association, dated 19 June 1907, a copy of her obituary from the Lancaster News-Journal, 2 April 1924, miscellaneous papers and memoranda written by Alexander Hood and his father Frederick Hood, letters written to Annie Lockwood Cochran, daughter of George Lockwood and Catharine Hood, and correspondence and documents relating to the Civil War pension of Thomas Tillbrook, husband of Emma Hood Lockwood.

The Hon. Alexander H. Hood was a noted attorney in Lancaster. His daughter, Bernarda, married A. Ross Black, and lived in Strasburg, Lancaster County.
Annie Lockwood Cochran was the daughter of Geroge Lockwood and Catharine Hood Lockwood and wife of David Cochran.
