This collection contains items from the Hiram Buckwalter and John S. Shelley families. Hiram Buckwalter recorded the birth dates of his children in the account book. John S. Shelley's letterhead was preserved in the account book, as was an insurance receipt and two loose account and calculation sheets.

John's daughter, Grace (1916-2012), married Paul B. Brubaker (1913-2004). Paul was the grandson of Hiram Buckwalter (1857-1930).
The Andrew J. Steinman Collection contains the personal and business papers of Andrew J. Steinman, the Steinman family, and John M. Hale. Andrew was a lawyer; his wife was the daughter of John M. Hale, also a lawyer. This collection is comprised of correspondence, legal papers, and financial records.

The Kirk Family Papers contain items from the Kirk family, of Kirk's Mill, in Little Britain Twp. Ciphering and other school books of Lewis Kirk represent some of his schoolwork. Elisabeth's scrapbook from 1846 shows her interest in poetry. Legal and financial documents of Levi Kirk pertain to the sale of land, farming, medical expenses and the payment of bounties in 1864. Published works and the Columbian Almanac for 1836 are among the mid-nineteenth century items that the family saved.

The McCaa Collection contains the papers of and collected by the family of James McCaa in northeastern Lancaster County. Among the items are account and ledger books, a physician's visiting book, legal papers, deeds, certificates for commissions, receipts, letters, and estate papers.
The Geist Family Papers include correspondence, tax records, legal documents, and other items related to the Geist family. Some correspondence is personal, while other letters relate to legal proceedings concerning estates and inheritances. A number of wills and associated materials, generally related to adjudications involving family members. Numerous local tax notices and federal income tax returns largely pertain to Daniel W. and Bertha W. Geist. Other materials include notebooks and receipts from Daniel W. Geist's time at Millersville State Normal School, visiting cards, and newspaper clippings.

The Samuel Ream Collection contains papers of the Reem family of Mount Joy Twp. The papers include probate records, receipts, and an agreement with the railroad company. Resolutions from Christ Reformed Church in Elizabethtown thank Adam Reem for the property he sold to the church.

The Jonas Metzger Collection consists almost exclusively of receipts and invoices for payments for goods and services provided to Jonas Metzger and his wife, Mary. Jonas Metzger died 20 April 1817 and the major portion of the collection concerns the affairs of his wife from 1817-1846, as well as tuition receipts.

Harry Lincoln Long was the donor's maternal grandfather; he kept these documents for the family.
