Printed version of the court case between the executors of James Buchanan’s estate and Henry E. Johnston and Harriet L. Johnston, his wife, concerning the papers left by Buchanan, some delivered to William B. Reed for the purpose of writing a biography (as directed by the will, but Reed refused to write the biography), the alleged mis-handling by E. Y. Buchanan of a large number of family papers in the possession of the defendants, and the unwillingness of E. Y. Buchanan to destroy certain papers as directed by the will. Lancaster.

Letter from J. B. Henry to Louisa Anderson asking after her health and reporting that his is very good; mentions the Thieriots and sermon of Caldwell but Bishop is better; describes several places for the family to stay if Louisa is well enough to travel, will await her decision; hopes the yacht for a friend is being shipped; asks for pictures of the children and describes the beauty of the night. With envelope. Bolton, NY, [July 1877].
