Henry advising to have Jamie keep his application to the Naval Academy on file in case0 someone, probably Bridgman, drops out; if so, Anderson will urge the Secretary to appoint Jamie; is concerned with the way Mr. Kapff has ignored both of them and recommends having a lawyer clear up the matter instead of turning matters over to slow-acting Mr. Greenfield; his baby is better; and Aunt Paulina died with only about a dozen attending the funeral because Mr. [Oothout] put no notice in the paper. He has placed their bonds and Miss Hetty’s in the Safety Deposit Building in Philadelphia and the certificates in the Farmers & Mechanics Bank. A new Power of Attorney is required for Lehigh Valley Railroad to continue to issue dividends to the Misses Pleasanton, although he would prefer that a new Trustee be appointed to whom their securities could be transferred. He will prepare the letter to Mr. Demund soon. He has asked Mr. Johnston to bid on the sleigh with a $50.00 limit; and asks that someone be at Mr. Trout’s to receive things as they arrive.
