Letter from James Buchanan to Harriet Lane Johnston expressing happiness at the family’s impending visit but questions the wisdom of exposing baby to the weather; admitting the most extreme pain which has all but incapacitated him; adding to the already shortages of help, he now has only one horse; welcoming the visit of Annie Buchanan; Mrs. Lane and Blanche Nevin have been most attentive; and lamenting that both “Oxford patients” are better but that Willie might not recover. With envelope addressed to 120 Park Street, Baltimore.
