This collection was relocated from the Wheatland mansion to the LancasterHistory archives in the Spring of 2009. Letter from James Buchanan to H. B. Swarr expressing his surprise that Messrs. Brenner and Baer have not called upon him since the papers securing the loan should be executed tomorrow and making arrangements to handle the $3,000 in case “something goes wrong.” Letter with seal. On side of envelope front: “Recd and answered Novb 1, 1859.”
