A letter from James Buchanan to William Carpenter, Esq. regarding a letter written several days earlier (MG0096 F013 In02). Buchanan writes that he did not get a receipt for the draft of $5,000 dollars he had sent to Philadelphia Bank, and feared it may have been misplaced. Washington, D.C.
