Originally Bailey & Co, the company was founded by Joseph Trowbridge Bailey and Andrew B. Kitchen. It was located at 136 Chestnut Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 1840 Joseph’s brother Eli Westcott Bailey, a New York City jeweler and importer hurt financially by the Panic of 1837, came to Philadelphia and entered the firm. The name continued as Bailey & Kitchen. When Joseph died, Eli became the senior partner of Bailey & Co. until he retired in 1867.

Riddle stating that he will sell the Shepherdstown Bridge stock in compliance with Virginia laws and will dispense the first installment of the funds to Mrs. Johnson, Mrs. Kennedy, Mr. Winter and Mrs. Nicklin according to paperwork provided by Mr. Swarr; stating that he has visited the Lane lands in Bedford County and found that one tract is worthless but the others have coal and are near a railroad; quoting from a letter written by Charles B. Hitchcock, agent for the Lane lands since 1848, saying there are 34 taxed lots; and asking that he might be authorized to sell all the lands. 170 Park St., Baltimore MD.

The James Buchanan Family Papers were collected by the James Buchanan Foundation for the Preservation of Wheatland. This collection was relocated from the Wheatland mansion to the LancasterHistory archives in the Spring of 2009. Gold brooch with glass cover encasing 2-3 locks of braided hair and one wisp of hair on back of brooch. Engraving on brooch reads: "Mary aged 10 months; Jennie aged 3 years, 2 months, 12 days; Willie aged 1 year, 2 months, 3 days."
These were the first three of seven children to James B & Martha J. Lane, to which Harriet Lane was aunt.

A gold ball-shaped pendant on a gold chain. The pendant has several openings revealing the locks of hair, whose hair it belonged to and the year of their death: Mother 1839, Father 1840, Mary 1855, Eskridge 1857 and James 1863.

Summary
Daniel Clark, born in Ireland and a schoolboy at Eton, came to New Orleans in 1786, to join his uncle of the same name. He was prominent in the city, became an American citizen, and in 1806, was elected a delegate to Congress. Shortly afterward he broke with Wilkinson, with whom he had been intimate, and in this book gives much evidence of the General's treachery. Clark strives to prove that Wilkinson was a pensioner of Spain from 1794 to 1803; and an accomplice of Aaron Burr in treasonably plotting a separation of the states. The case is clearly and forcibly put and is a strong one, with information about Jefferson's administration of the West, and the causes there working towards a secession in the early years of the Republic.
