Description: Unusual but delicious, funnel cake is a Pennsylvania Dutch food specialty to be enjoyed in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Flour, sugar and eggs are used to create a sweetened batter which is pured from a funnel-pitcher into a skillet of hotoil in a swirled pattern. The resulting "squiggly donut" is duested with confectioner's sugar and served warm.

Description: Delectable Pennsylvania Dutch desserts of Lancaster County, PA, include (left to right), funnel cake, shoofly pie and dried apple schnitz. funnel cake is made from batter poured into hot oil, and shoofly pie is a sweet compination of molasses, brown sugar and spices with a crumb topping. Schnitz are dried apple slices often eaten as snacks or asan ingredient in schnitz and knepp, a main dish.
