Letter from James Buchanan to Christian Bachman, Esq. asking that an outstanding judgment against Col. Stambaugh be revived. Letter from James Buchanan to James B. Lane, Esq. refusing all items from Wheatland except the matting and the book cases, other items may be chosen when he returns to Lancaster after the election. He advises James not to board because it gives a bad appearance and that he is putting his house in Lancaster on the market. Sees some hope in the coming election. Washington.
